I am an admitted Advocate since 2003 and currently practice as a family and divorce mediator.

I have seen through the court system that legal relief comes at a crippling  price to all parties both emotionally and financially. The conflict that surrounds an adversarial divorce fails to consider the impact of the loss of a family that the children have to bear going forward. No consideration is given to the views and wishes of children to make the process less traumatic.

More so ever there is no transition period for both parents and their children to come to terms with the new family structure and routine and to realistically test the consequences of their decisions before it becomes an order.

Mediation allows the couple or co-parents to make an informed decision together based on the legal requirements and the psychological impact their conflict and consequences have on themselves and their family.

I opened the Fair Practice organisation, in both Fourways and Bryanston, to assist people in mediating their conflicts while engaging in effective discussions where they can hear each other's point of view in a safe and neutral environment and collaborate on a structure that benefits the whole family.

With my chosen field being family mediation for unwed, separating, divorcing or post divorced couples or co-parents, I am able to explain the benefits of mediation as opposed to litigation to ensure that legal costs are saved and time is used constructively during the sessions.

I facilitate the formulation of contact schedules, parenting plans/agreements, maintenance schedules and if needed the division of assets, which are each tailored in accordance with that specific couple or families needs.

I have been awarded a cum laude merit in my Negotiation, Divorce Mediation and Labour Arbitration skills by the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) endorsed by the University of Pretoria. I am accredited with the South African Association of Mediators (SAAM).

I have further received accreditation as a commercial mediator from the Conflict Dynamics organisation endorsed by the University of Stellenbosch - Business School and have been internationally accredited as a civil and commercial mediator by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in the UK.
